Proceeding of the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Mechatronics, pp.494-498. (Okayama, Japan, August 1998)

The study deals with the real-time visualization of cutting processes in CNC machining centers. As a machine tool, a 3-axis control machining center with a CNC controller on the basis of an open architecture is used. NC internal information is taken out from the NC controller to visualize a workpiece shape under machining on PC, applying CAD technology. From the experimental results, the system is found effective to provide operators with a good interface.
